Other Information

The name Screwdriver supposedly came around in the 1950's when American oil workers were stationed in the Middle East and mixed vodka and canned orange juice, stirred with whatever came to hand, generally a screwdriver.

* For a Harvey Wallbanger slowly pour or float 12.5ml Galliano on top of the drink. Be sure to only add 37.5ml of vodka.

The story of how this drink came about is an intriguing one. Apparently a surfer named Harvey used to consume vast amounts of Screwdrivers with a Galliano float after a hard day’s surfing. A fair few cocktails later he would pick up his board and attempt to leave. Walking out of a bar with a surfboard is hard at the best of times, and Harvey would stumble out bouncing off the walls, hence the name Harvey Wallbanger.
