SA Bartenders Invited to BACARDÍ Bar Academy in November
Working bartenders and Bar Managers would dread to miss a specialized bartending master class sponsored by BACARDÍ rum in November in Cape Town, Jo’burg and Soweto.

Established in 2010, BACARDÍ Bar Academy (BBA) was created to educate and inspire South African bartenders on a continual basis. For the second time this year, Mr Kevin Snyman (South Africa’s Brand Ambassador of BACARDÍ rum) and a group of professionals will entertain working bartenders with a new practical programme; the bar through the eyes of a competition bartender. Working bartenders and Bar Managers are invited at no charge. Mr Snyman says, “BACARDÍ is in it for the bartenders.”

Understanding the importance of attention to detail makes all the difference in hospitality – food and beverage professionals may know that South Africa’s bartending trade is in the global spotlight. Customers are calling for raised standards and the South African industry is already responding to new opportunities: the 63rd anniversary of the International Bartending Association’s annual meeting and world cocktail championship was hosted in the mother city in 2014. It was a first for the African continent and attracted 450 delegates from 50 countries around the world. The South African leg of one of the world’s most respected bartending competitions, BACARDÍ Legacy recorded more entries than ever before for the competition taking place in early 2015. Given the global and domestic focus on bartending in SA, the mission of Mr Snyman and his BBA team is to help raise the standard of bartending in the rainbow nation.

Book a seat and attend. It will be worth it – the BBA sessions will take place between the 3rd and the 20th of November 2014. Bartenders and Bar Managers may reserve for groups of no more than 5 on a first come, first serve basis.
